YouTube brought on the #AdPocalypse when they implemented the changes in the YouTube Partner Program in mid-April. When I heard about the changes I was pretty frustrated. I felt that YouTube was just hurting the small guys. The change required you to have 10,000 total views on your channel to monetize your channel. Around that time I had roughly 3,500, so I was pretty far away from the mark.
It’s been several months since the change. I am almost 1/2 way to hitting the 10,000 total video views on my channel. I understand that they needed to do something with the ads to protect the advertiser’s investment. However, I still feel like they are hurting the little guys. I was already accepted into the partner’s program. I was already following the rules to make sure I didn’t get any type of content or copyright strike.
There is Hope
As much as I don’t approve of #AdPocalypse, I can’t change it. Every day, I keep doing everything I can to keep pushing forward in my YouTube journey. I will hit that 10,000 Total channel views one day. I won’t stop at 10,000 I am going to keep going and share my adventures with the world through YouTube. There are so many things in life that will discourage you, whether it’s in real life, or on the internet. Don’t let discouragement get you down. Take the negative things in your life and learn from them. Turn it into motivation to help you achieve your goals and your dreams. You can do anything you put your mind to, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
There are so many things to learn with starting a YouTube channel and promoting it. I am continually learning and keep implementing what I learn into my YouTube channel. I want to help other YouTubers with whatever I can. If you have any questions you can leave a comment. You can also contact me. I am always interested in doing a collaboration. If you are interested then you can Collaborate With Me.
