I was excited when I found out that Steam was having there Summer Sale. I was also excited when I found the Steam Link was only $2.99.
When I got to shipping, I was a little disheartened to find that the shipping was around $8.00 I wanted to purchase a couple more games. However, I had gotten a Steam Link and that was pretty exciting.
I was notified that with a large number of orders it would be delayed. Makes sense. It was a $49.99 item they were selling for $2.99. However, I still excitedly anticipated the delivery. I kept checking my email and steam account details for information on shipping. Once I got the tracking details I kept checking the tracking.
I got the Package
The day of delivery was here. I constantly checked the porch. I didn’t want to miss my new package. When it was delivered. I put everything else away and ripped into the package.
The packaging was really sturdy and done pretty well. I don’t know what I expected. However, when I got it, I was not disappointed. It even included power adapters for other countries, as well as an HDMI Cable.
I heard mixed reviews on the Steam Controller, so I didn’t purchase it. My friend has an old Xbox 360 controller that he got from Game Stop that he’s letting me use.
I plugged it in and was easily able to connect it to the wireless network. It also easily found my laptop that was running Steam. I was informed that it works better if you have it wired into your network, however, my router is not accessible.
I Was Playing Some Games
The main game that I play is Stardew Valley. It’s not set up for using a controller. However, you can still use the Xbox controller. It just takes getting used to. The only thing I have found is, you can’t name your animals.
I played Left 4 Dead 2. However, it is not set up for a controller either. You can still do it, however, the aiming is very sensitive. I need to figure out how to turn down the sensitivity on the controller settings. I don’t even know if that is possible.
I’m wondering if you just need to get a game that is set up for the steam link and the controller. Unfortunately, I don’t have any games that are specifically set up for the Steam Link or a controller.
