So Many Emotions – Getting Fired

Getting Fired

I have so many emotions running through me.  Yesterday was my last day of work, Yup I was Getting Fired. I worked there for 2.5 years.  I enjoyed the job.

The Team was Small

The team was so small and I had the opportunity to work with everyone on my team at one point or another. With that comes a great opportunity to get to know one another.  Everyone knew a lot about everyone and it was an office full of people that cared about everyone,  I have never had a team that was so caring.

We knew about this beforehand which made it easier.  We all had forewarning so it wasn’t an unexpected event. I made multiple videos on my YouTube Channel about the event.

The Last Day

On my last day of work I was on the way into the office and as I was pulling off the freeway my car started to struggle. I started going and it was struggling. I wasn’t stopping though because I wasn’t going to miss out on that severance check. Luckily the office is only a few minutes off the freeway.

I pulled into work and I told my coworkers about the car issue. Luckily my Manager was mechanically inclined. He got it temporarily fixed so I could make it home from my last day at work.

Getting Fired

Now, back to the business at hand. Getting Fired.  The day was weird, as I’ve never been through a layoff.  I didn’t know what to expect. After signing all of my paperwork.  I turned in all my equipment.  However, it didn’t really hit me in the gut, until I turned in my badge and walked through one last time.

After the End

Afterwards, we all went out and had a get together with some of the “current” employees and some of the employees that have moved on. It was great to hear all the stories and tell some other stories as well.   I knew it was coming, however, it was still a bittersweet ending.

Now that I am no longer employed.  I am going to  move on to bigger and better things. I will be applying for other jobs Obviously. However, this will give me time to work on my YouTube Channel as well as my website.  I’m excited for the future and I can’t wait to see what it holds.
