When I first started with YouTube my vlogging camera I used was a point and shoot. The camera didn’t have the best audio and would only record up to 720 resolution. It was High Definition, however it wasn’t full HD. You can definitely use a basic camera to start out on YouTube.
my vlogging camera setup now is very simple. I have my Iphone 7 plus that I (rarely) use. My main camera I use is my Gopro Hero 3+ Silver edition. I use a lavalier microphone attached to my gopro. The microphone isn’t a requirement, just helps with the audio quality.
In the future I plan to get a DSLR I can use it to make my YouTube Videos, as well as photography. The DSLR allows an added shotgun microphone to enhance the video audio. As much as I want a new camera it’s definitely not required. As long as you have a camera on your smartphone or another camera you can start with that.

Several of my favorite Youtubers have said that Gear Doesn’t Matter it’s all about the story. I’m starting to feel the same way. Yes a new camera, lens and microphone would be nice. A new camera would make it easier to make videos it is not a YouTube requirement.
If I had waited till I had the best equipment I would not have my channel right now. I started my YouTube adventure with my story of moving to Ohio and having some new adventures. I started to share with my family in Utah, as well as others all of my adventures.
I want to know what camera you’re using. Please leave a comment and let me know what you’re using. If you have any questions please feel free to Contact Me.
