It’s time for a few Lifestyle Changes

Lifestyle Changes

Lifestyle Changes are a new thing for me. I used to be able to live my life with little to no consequences. I used to be able to eat what I want and I wouldn’t have any weight gain. My soda cup would never be empty and as soon as it was, it was refilled again.

Something has to Change

However, over the last couple years, I have started to gain weight. I’ve had to keep buying new clothes. There is no end in sight. If I keep going the way I’m going there is no telling how much weight I would have on me. Now, I’m not severely overweight by any means. I’m just afraid that if I don’t get a handle on it now, then it will be harder to do so when I get more weight and older.

I work at a job, where I sit down for 8 hours a day. And there is a soda fountain with free soda. I have cut back on the amount of soda I drink.  I’ll have one small cup maybe 2 a week. However, considering I would drink over 100 ounces of soda a day! I think that is a good compromise.

I have started eating Breakfast, someone said that’s the most important meal of the day.  However, I feel like I have more energy.  That could also be due to the fact that I’ve been going to bed at a decent hour.

Getting Active

I have started walking and being active.  My break and lunches used to consist of sitting around doing nothing. Now I use them to walk around, whether I go to a park, or just walk around the office complex.  I use Under Armor’s Map My Walk app on my trusty iPhone.  I have also been using My Fitness Pal to track what I eat.  It also tracks my steps and I’ve set a goal of 7,000 steps a day.  So far I have been able to hit the goal.  However, we may have to raise that goal at some point.

I’m not saying that I’m perfect either.  There are times when I am up late at night and I’m craving something sweet.  I always catch myself getting up and going through the cupboards to see if I can find something that will satisfy my cravings.  Every now and then, I’ll give in.

Feeling Better

Overall, I’m feeling much better, and happier with the changes I have made.  I hope I can continue to move forward with these strong>Lifestyle Changes.  What are the struggles you face when you go through a lifestyle change?   Has strong>Lifestyle Changes been easy for you?
