For the last couple of weeks, I have been using the Fitbit Charge 2 to track my activities as part of my lifestyle changes.
You all know I’ve been changing my lifestyle and trying to get healthy. Well as part of that, I wanted to get something to track my activity. I really wanted an Apple Watch. However, the Apple Watch was out of my budget.
I did my research and found that the Fitbit Charge 2 which was only $149.00 would meet my needs. I really wanted something that would track my steps, calories burned and my heart rate. The Fitbit Charge 2 does all of that. However, when I got the device, I found out that it does much more than that.
Monitors Heart Rate
The Fitbit Charge 2 will track your heart rate. This will help you get the most out of your workout.
This feature is great. It will automatically track your sleeping and tell you how long you were in Awake, REM, Light and Deep sleep. It will give you a percentage as well as a graph so you can see it.
You can use the Fitbit to track your workouts. It will give you the readout of your information. It will also tell you how long your workout has been going.
Phone notifications (call, text, and calendar)
You can also turn on notifications so you can get a notification on the Fitbit Charge 2 when you get a phone call or a text. This is really handy when you’re working out, or just throughout the day. However, it only shows you a portion of the call or text as the size of the screen.
5-day battery life
The battery is good, It lasts for a good amount of time. And it will charge in as little as 2 hours. That way you’re not without it for a long time.
Reminders to move.
The Fitbit Charge 2 will give you hourly reminders to move if you turn the option on. It will vibrate and give you a cute little motivational saying.
Heart Rate Monitoring
My two biggest complaint about the Fitbit Charge 2 is the Heart Rate Monitoring. I have mine set where the heart rate will display on the main screen. Every now and then, (mainly in the morning) I will look down and all I will see is the heart symbol and two dashes. I’m not sure how the Fitbit Charge 2 monitors the heart. However, I am following the directions on how to wear the device.
I don’t know if it’s just my device or if it’s just the design of the device. I also don’t know if it’s how I’m wearing it, however, I feel like I am following their instructions on how to wear it.
The Fitbit Charge 2 is water resistant. It would be nice if it was water-proof so you didn’t have to take it off to go swimming, shower or do dishes. That part is kind of a pain.
Overall, I would recommend the Fitbit Charge 2 if you are looking for something. These are just a few of my complaints about the device. If you would like to find more information check out the Fitbit Charge 2.
