Checklist for Starting a YouTube Channel.

When Starting a YouTube channel what are some of the things that are needed? Other than going to YouTube and actually creating the channel you will need a few more basics to get started on your YouTube journey. The basics you will need is a Camera, Computer, editing software and maybe a smartphone.

Starting a YouTube Channel

The main thing you will need when Starting a YouTube channel is a camera. You can use a smartphone or a GoPro. Check out my latest article Best Vlogging Camera Smartphone or GoPro. If you are lucky and have access to a video camera or a DSLR then count your lucky stars. Basically, you will need to have a camera to record with. If you can try to find something that will record in HD. The video standards are getting higher and higher these days.

Computer/Editing Software

You will need something to edit your video with. Whether you have a computer with video editing software. Personally, I have a Macbook pro that I edit on. MacOs comes with iMovie. You can also get some additional software, such as Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro. If you are not using a Macintosh there are other options. Windows used to come with Movie Maker. You can also purchase Sony Vegas.

The other option is an app on your smartphone. @YoutuberHerman uses his Samsung galaxy s8 plus to edit his videos on. He said

“I use KineMaster, Filmora, VideoShop, movie maker and video show. I primarily use KineMaster now but it just depends on what I want to do with my video.”

You don’t have to go out and spend the big bucks on a computer or editing software to make videos. All you need is your imagination and some creativity.

I have also used iMovie on my iPhone to edit a couple videos. It’s not as easy as using the full version on the computer, but it is possible. I also downloaded a few apps to try my hand at editing on my iPhone. We shall see how that goes in the future.

Have an Idea

The final thing you will need for Starting a YouTube channel is an idea. Have an idea of what you want your YouTube Channel to be about. If you can tell a great story then you will always succeed on YouTube. If you are telling your own stories, don’t be afraid of telling them. You may not feel like anyone will care about your story. I know I felt like that. I thought to myself, why would anyone care about my story. My life is boring, I don’t do anything that is exciting. I am still in shock that I have over 400 subscribers on my YouTube channel.

In conclusion, use what you have to get started, you can always grow. Don’t let not having something stop you from creating. If you want to be a YouTuber, start today. Film your first video, use what you have and get started. Tell me what you had when you were Starting a YouTube channel.  Let me know in the comments below. 1. This is a great checklist for people who are just starting YouTube. A whole lot of people are backward when it comes to actually doing a YouTube channel. My advice is to take this checklist and just do it. Trial and error then it all will work out just fine if it is something you are passionate about.

    1. A lot of people are worried about getting High-end equipment. I want people to know they don’t need that. Most everyone has a Smartphone they can use to film and edit their YouTube Videos on. Thank you so much for your support.

  2. I have used Final Cut Pro. a while back but never tried Adobe Premier or any of the other ones, I am definitely going to consult you about it whenever I need to edit some videos in the future.
